Badger Family Spring Visit: Every Weekend in April
With midterms beginning to ramp up and snow still on the way in Madison, your students may be feeling homesick or need something to look forward to during this final winter stretch.
Plan ahead to bring them some springtime cheer and enjoy the beauty of April in Madison together during our annual Badger Family Spring Visit!
Badger Family Spring Visit (BFSV) is simply an opportunity for you to visit your student any weekend during the month of April and attend free, low-cost and classic springtime events in Madison that our team of local pros has compiled for you. There is no fee to register – just come and enjoy time with your Badger.

All you have to do is:
- Connect with your student to pick a weekend during April to visit (make sure it’s not before any big exams or presentations),
- Register here to let us know you may be coming (we’ll send you information to make your visit easier, like parking suggestions and event updates),
- Watch out for an email from us at parent@uwmad.wisc.edu with info on how to download our mobile event app, build your own schedule, and sample weekend itineraries,
- Visit Madison and enjoy springtime with your Badger! You can also share photos of your weekend with us on social using #BadgerFamily for a chance to win prizes.

Family Weekend 2023: October 20-22, 2023
We look forward to seeing you in-person this fall at Family Weekend – UW-Madison’s signature event for parents and families.
Family Weekend gives the whole family, from grandparents to siblings, a chance to see UW–Madison through the eyes of your Badger. The weekend will include engaging campus and community events, including photo opportunities with Bucky, student entertainment, sessions with campus experts, athletics opportunities, and more. Please note that a home football game is not part of Family Weekend. Family Weekend registration will open this summer, and more information will be released in the coming months.
Parent and Family Football Ticket Presale Opportunity
Each fall, the Parent and Family Program partners with Wisconsin Athletics to offer families a chance to attend a UW football game. Tickets for the select home games are offered to parents and families before they go on sale to the general public, usually in mid-July. Please note, this event is separate from Family Weekend.
More information on the ticket sale date, games dates and other offerings will be released in the coming months.
