University of Wisconsin–Madison

Move-in Event for Parents and Families

Event Overview

Moving your student to campus is an exciting time, and we want to thank and celebrate your Badger Family. Get into the “back to school” spirit with a guided tour of Alumni Park and open house hosted by the Wisconsin Alumni Association in partnership with the UW-Madison Parent and Family Program.

Situated on Lake Mendota next to the Memorial Union Terrace, Alumni Park features green spaces and gardens, artful exhibits about alumni and UW, breathtaking views, a visitor center, and more. Discover 150 years of UW history, more than 100 influential alumni, campus traditions, and stories of innovation and achievement — all in a 30-minute tour.

You’ll also enjoy just the right amount of Badger spirit — and photo opportunities — thanks to the Bucky statue, Badger Pride Wall, and Progress Point overlook. Stop in at the One Alumni Place visitor center for light refreshments, UW-themed giveaways, and information on the Wisconsin Alumni Association.
