Upcoming Web Chats on Advising and Housing

Does your student have questions about courses, majors, or advising? Join the Parent Program and the Office of Undergraduate Advising for an informational web chat on Thursday, Oct. 24, from noon–1 p.m. (CST). Academic advising is an important part of undergraduate education. Advisors help students find the resources and tools to explore, define, and accomplish academic and career goals. Topics may include selecting or changing a major, course selection, reading a Degree Audit Reporting System (DARS) report, advising improvements, entrance requirements for undergraduate majors, transfer requirements, and planned enhancements to the campus advising structure.

Also, if your student is thinking about where to live in 2014–15, we will have campus experts available to take your questions on Wednesday, Nov. 6, from noon–1 p.m. (CST). Students have many options for their living arrangements, both on and off campus. Experts from several campus units will be on hand to answer questions about factors to consider while selecting an off-campus apartment or house, the timing for making an informed decision, the benefits of living in University Residence Halls, and more.

Links to the web chats will be included in an e-mail message soon and on the Parent Program homepage.
